Biography

Photo of Gardens On The Go

Hi!  I’m Connie Kuramoto and I have been working in the Horticulture Industry for over 40 years. I have sold flowers, delivered garden services, managed greenhouses and market gardens, and currently run a Horticulture Training and Service Company called Gardens on the Go.  My education includes training in Botany through the University of Massachusetts, and a Diploma in Greenhouse Horticulture Technology from Malaspina College, now Vancouver Island University. I was hired to  teach at Vancouver Island University in their Horticulture Department , and to act as their greenhouse technician  in 1989, and continued to work there for over twenty years I taught Horticulture Skills and Practices and coordinated student activities in the 10,000 Square foot Commercially run  greenhouse.  When I  retired from the University in 2008, I formed my company, and I now teach on contract for North Island College, Gaia College, and VIU. I also offer garden consulting, and pruning of trees, shrubs, and roses.

I  am also pleased to offer  Horticultural Training Workshops throughout the Vancouver Island Area.  I am excited to  offer a series of classes this year at the Doighouse Earthship Build and Education Center in Qualicum Bay.  I hope to see  you there!  Following are my upcoming classes :
