Meetings & Member Events: Your board meets monthly ( with the exception of July & August), please contact a board member via email “info@lighthousecountry.ca ” with any suggestions or inquiries. Throughout the year there are a variety of member events such as Business After Business , the annual AGM and a Christmas party.
Tradeshows: In the past the LCBA has hosted an annual Tradeshow on a Sunday coinciding with the monthly Second Sunday Market at the Lighthouse Community Hall on Lions Blvd in Qualicum Bay. Participation was a bit weak, therefore this activity has been put on hold pending further planning. If you are interested in this , please contact us via email.
Community Signage Program: The LCBA provides much of the Lighthouse Country area tourism signage and Village identification signs. We recently completed new signage at Deep Bay Marina as well as a signage kiosk featuring tourism service and attraction information and small community bulletin area located in the Bowser village core at Magnolia Court
Lighthouse Country Area Promotion: Fam Tours & Area Visitor Centre engagement: Lighthouse Country area promotion is designed to support tourism in the area via familiarization tours for “front line” tourism staff from neighboring areas such as Qualicum Beach Parksville and Comox Valley. The inaugural Fam tour took place in May 2018 followed by another in June 2019 featuring a bus tour through the area, stopping along the way at various sites and areas of interest. Approximately 14 tourism operators, tourism professionals and the local media representatives participated .The LCBA participates in promotional activities as members of the Parksville Qualicum Beach Tourism Assn, Vancouver Island Economic Alliance , and both the Parksville & Qualicum Beach Chambers of Commerce . Most recently we have participated in advertising thru the Comox Valley Visitor Centre.
Community Events: During the holiday season, The LCBA coordinates with local businesses and community organizations to sponsor ” Merry Magnolia Court Christmas” – a festive, fun family event for the Lighthouse Country community to gather and enjoy some, hot chocolate, food, games, caroling, fireworks, tree lighting and more ! There is also the annual ” Lighthouse Light-Up Contest ” where local businesses light up and the community votes for the best which takes place at the Merry Magnolia Court Christmas event.
